Broken Glass Sidelight Gembrook 3783
Before: Broken glass sidelight Gembrook 3783. A panel of glass which is either operable or inoperable, located adjacent to a doorway which may or may not be in the same plane of the doorway, is considered a sidelight (or side panel). A sidelight is categorized specifically in the Australian Safety Standards which requires the use of different types of glass. In this case, the sidelight is immediately next to a door and must be a safety glass. The window had already met the Australian Safety Standards and had 6.38 clear laminated glass in it. The window was badly cracked but had held together because of the characteristics typical of this type of safety glass which prevented serious injury.
After: A-View Glass removed the broken glass sidelight at this restaurant and replaced it with 6.38 clear laminated safety glass. The new glass was sealed using black neutral cure silicone which prevents damage to the plastic interlayer material. Laminated glass is usually two sheets of glass bonded together with an interlayer. This interlayer can be affected by using the wrong silicone products. A-View Glass uses only the highest quality materials so you can be assured of the best result for your job.
